The Government of New Brunswick has several full-time, 1-year contracts, with the possibility of renewal, for veterinarians interested in large animal practice. There are positions in the Bathurst Region and the Fredericton Region but other locations in the province may be considered.
The offer, beginning in January 2021, includes a fully equipped 4X4 full size truck with attached mobile veterinary unit. Equipment includes, but not limited to, Easi-Scan BCF ultrasound machine, power float, surgical equipment, digital radiograph system. Also included in the offer are benefits such as NBVMA/CVMA membership, memberships to associations of practitioner’s choice (AABP, AAEP, ABPA), vacation, dental, medical, provisions of work attire, overtime pay, meal claims and power claims for veterinary unit. The Provincial Veterinary Service is closely linked to the Provincial Laboratory with great assistance from our two (2) Provincial Pathologists. Coaching, service quality and effective communication are critical to the service. Remuneration is based on education and experience; proficiency in both official languages is an asset.
